Well, that’s 3 months of the year gone. 2018 is now 25% of the way through!
Of course, when it comes to setting goals, January 1st is the obvious time to do it with New Year’s resolutions but – with 3 months in and spring officially here – (not that you’d know it, looking at the weather!) we think now is a great time for some new goals.
Before we share what our new goals are, let’s look at why they are so important for business.
In short, you need to start with the end in mind. When you begin something (whatever it is), you need to know how you want it to finish, or where you want to end up.
Goals keep you focused
Without a goal or a target to shoot at, where do you aim? Without a goal in mind, a business can waste energy and time, and lack direction. Setting goals gives you something to aim for. It gives your business a sense of direction and can help to keep you focused and on track. Goals keep you ‘locked-in’ and free from distractions.
Goals help you to measure progress
Unless your goals are very short term, being able to see how you are doing against your targets – measuring your success – will always be helpful. Again, it keeps you on track. Things happen. Things do go wrong – but when you can see how much progress you have made and how much you need to improve to succeed, most things become far more ‘do-able’.
Goals stop you procrastinating
Procrastination is the enemy of business. Okay, so just setting a goal doesn’t guarantee that you won’t procrastinate and be lazy, but it will certainly help you overcome it.
Break long and medium term goals down into manageable chunks of shorter term goals. This way, you are more likely to stay on the ball and on course.
Goals give you motivation
You might’ve guessed where we’re going with this by now. If you want to keep focused, on track, and avoid the danger of procrastination, you need to keep motivated.
What helps you to stay motivated? Yep, that’s right – setting goals!
What our goals are
Our main goal for the next 3-6 months is marketing. We’re great at marketing other businesses, but it seems to mean that the marketing for TD Creative always takes a back seat.
After all, client work is more important, right?
We realise we need to up our game so we’ll be taking one day out a week from our client work and spending the time on building our business – in the way we build our clients’ businesses for them.
We have 3 goals we want to achieve:
Be more consistent
Consistency is crucial in business – we know that. But, when it comes to our marketing we don’t practise what we preach. We need to be more consistent with blogging and social media. This means interacting daily on social and posting a blog weekly. Check us out on social here: Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Start our email newsletter
Do you ever have jobs that you never get round to starting? Well, this is one of ours! However, we know that email newsletters are a powerful marketing tool, so we’ll be launching ours in April/May.
Sign up for news, offers, competitions, an opportunity to see behind the scenes and much more.
Launch TD Print
Last but not least, we are launching our sister company, TD Print, on May 18 and we can’t wait.
We’ll be offering great quality print and equally great prices, with a match-price promise and offers. If you simply can’t wait until the launch and you have a job now, get in touch and we’ll get back to you with a quote.
